In My Makeup Bag: Lucy Feagins, The Design Files

Lucy Feagins, the clever gal behind The Design Files, recently stopped by to shoot a feature on Natalie's stylish abode. While she was there we turned the tables and put Lucy under the spotlight so that we could find out what's in her makeup bag!

What's the one beauty item you absolutely can't live without?
Under eye concealer to brighten the shadows beneath my sleepy eyes! Bloggers are notorious night-owls and I rarely go to bed before 2:00am.

What's your top beauty tip?
Buy the expensive brushes! Applying makeup with a quality brush always looks 1,000 times better than when you use your fingers or a cheap applicator. I know it seems like an indulgence, but a good makeup brush can make such a difference to the finish of your makeup.

You can see The Design Files' beautiful profile of Natalie's family home here.

Pantone Queen - 60 Years of Matching Colour

To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, Pantone and Leo Burnett London teamed up to release a limited edition colour wheel based on the Queen of Britain's infamous colour-coordinated ensembles. Each outfit is matched with a Pantone Colour number reference along with the date and location that defines when the Queen donned the ensemble. Perhaps we should give this cute idea our very own magic touch and match Bloom Nail Polish shades with the Queen's history of sartorial choices?

Bloom x Thursday Sunday SS12

We joined forces with Melbourne-based fashion label Thursday Sunday for the second time to create the beauty look for their dreamy SS12 campaign imagery (you may remember the AW12 look our makeup artist created for their last campaign). We're super pleased with the results, we think  the beauty is just as effortlessly chic as the perfectly tailored garments. Bloom x Thursday Sunday - a match made in heaven, no?

We Heart Children's Book Illustrator Anna Walker

We are delighted to share with you a very special video we stumbled upon while indulging in the pages of Art by Wiley blog. We just adore Anna Walker's sweet as pie illustrations that adorn the pages of some of our favourite children's books, including the I Love Ollie series, of which the Bloom household has several. She's even made a guest appearance at Bloom designing the cover of 'Pure Harmony', a compilation CD we put together many moons ago.

This video created by Nick Rieve and The White Tree gives us a little glimpse into Anna's creative world. We love that Anna seems just as sweet and quirky as her drawings are!
